Wymondham is a friendly but ambitious club where new players of all abilities and ages are assured of a warm welcome.
The club runs one of the largest and most successful Youth & Mini sections in the Eastern Counties with teams operating from Under 6 to Under 19. Training and fixtures take place on Sunday mornings from 10-12pm for the Under 6 to Under 16 age groups and also on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm for Under 13 - Under 17s. Wildcat (girls) training is from 5.30pm on Thursday evening
The senior section of the club has seen plenty of success in recent years. The 1st XV won the Eastern Counties 1 championship in 2008 with a perfect record of 20 wins in 20 games and also won the Norfolk Senior Cup for the first time in their history; 2nd XV won Norfolk Merit Table 1 and also the Eastern Counties 2nd XV Plate in the same year and in 2009 narrowly missed out on repeating their success in the League; the 3rd XV play in Norfolk Merit Table 2 and the club is now pleased to report an 'active' Vets team is established as well as the introduction of a Ladies team with over 20 established players already. Senior training nights take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.15pm. Tuesdays are more generic sessions based on core skills, whilst on Thursdays the focus is on unit skills and team runs. Please, whatever your experience, whatever your skill level, whatever your age, sex, nationality or hair colour, you can be sure, you'll be welcome at Wymondham.
Wymondham currently has a number of overseas players registered at the club and would be very interested in hearing from any more players planning to travel to the UK. The club would aim to use its links to help players settle in the area and find employment opportunites. For further details please contact Andy Lyle
