West Norfolk 7s
Competition Winners
We woke up to a sunny but cold April day, perfect for 7?s rugby. We got to West Norfolk in plenty of time and were looking forward to a hard competition against 7 other teams, unfortunately West had seen 4 calloffs in the past week , and a side who had been put into the U13 competition when they were actually U14.
Undeterred we still had 2 games extended to 10 minute halves. One against West Norfolk and the second against Norwich.
The game against West Norfolk started and Wymondham hadn't moved from their 15 man game and were taking it into contact far too regularly to make the most of the speed and ball handling skills that we had in all players. However the ball did move at times and Wymodham slowly built up a commanding lead that West wasn't going to come back from although all credit they certainly made Wymondham work for the win. A 30-5 win to Wymondham.
Tries Owen Sharpe 3; Joe Milligan 2; Ryan Smith 1.
Having seen Norwich play West we knew the Norwich game was going to be all about not allowing their fast player any space. However this wasn't going to be an issue as he had unfortunately injured himself in the first game and couldn't play again. The result was never going to be any different than a Wymondham win, with try after try being run in. Ending with a 68-0 win.
All players taken enjoyed a good run out and all players took a full and active part in the games.
Well done boys, another solid competition win.
Tries Dom Smith 3; James Sutton 1; Alex Bainbridge 1; Owen Sharpe 2; Max Ross 1; Joe Milligan 1.
Conversions Charlie Blower 5; Joe Milligan 2; Owen Sharpe 1; Max Ross 1;
