"Forwards win matches, backs decide by how many points". I don't know who said this but they could have been talking about Trojans today. In a game that could have been won by either team Trojan forwards, missing 4 regulars, were solid from the first minute through to the last and a much changed back line repelled everything Diss threw at them, then produced the only score of the game.

As the final score suggests this was a very tight game. Both teams had periods of possession and territory but could not penetrate solid defences. It took a individual effort around the outside of the Diss defence by Montgomery to break the deadlock mid way through the second half. Unfortunately Ford was unable to add the extra points which left the Trojan supporters wishing the game to end before Diss could score the try their performance deserved.

Trojans remained solid to the end for their narrow victory and set up a home final on 25th March against either Norwich or Lowestoft&Yarmouth who met in todays other semi final.
