Well done guys, although I expected nothing less than a win you kept it close enough at points to keep me tense on the side lines.
A very solid performance from all involved in the game, Norwich and Wymondham players alike.
We seem to delight in putting ourselves under pressure from the start of games, penalty awarded to Norwich within a few minutes, their coach screaming ‘take the points’ and so just to make it easier for them we allowed the referee to walk them forward another 10m, a much easier kick. I suppose discipline is the constant shout of the national coaches then it is going to be for me too.
Having said that we continued to play expansive rugby, good strong running from the centres, good support as well and despite little ball getting to the wings I was very happy with the way things went.
The second half was probably the best tactical half of rugby I have seen us play, the wind was with us and anytime the ball came near our half we kicked it back to keep them pegged down. As the game went on I felt we needed another try and after winning one of their line outs I thought Ollie held on for the ball too long, much too long, far too long and then bang Chris was through for the final score of the game, great try.
Nick, first start in the back row for Wymondham, a well deserved man of the match, I don’t think I have seen your dad jump so high in delight as he did for your first try.
