A frosty start to the day, there was some suggestion that the pitch would be unplayable but I have seen harder pitches at West in April.
This was our first game after the long Xmas and New Year break and it showed in a very rusty performance. In fact the whole game was a bit like that for both teams, a lot of spoiling and pressure stopped both teams playing as well as I have seen them do in the past.
My memories of the game, Henry coming on as wing replacement and putting in 4 great tackles, if he had been there tackling their 8 like that from the start it would have been a different game. Finn trapped after putting in a try saving tackle 1m out from our line and then having to spend 10 minutes having a rest after being penalised for not rolling away, like all good back rows he plays close to the edge unfortunately in this game he attracted the refs attention. Charlie spotting that they had no-one on the blind side of a ruck and running in a great try.
Probably our closest victory against West Norfolk I think we wanted it more – well done guys.
