Delopment team fixture

On a sunny Autumn morning Wymondham traveled over to Norwich, who, after a few disappointing results, had a point to prove.  After a couple of late cry offs left Norwich short, particularly in the front row, a few Wymondham players donned Norwich shirts to ensure an intense and compelling local derby.

Wymondham made a strong start with some early pressure, forwards securing the ball and backs showing some good hands.   This was rewarded with a lovely try by Nic White, converted by Ben.  Norwich fought back but were stopped by some good Wymondham tackling.  Wymondham broke out again and Nic scored another try in the corner, converted from near the touchline by Lee.  Wymondham continues to apply pressure but were prevented from scoring by some errors.  Eventually, it was a Norwich handling error which allowed Charlie PB to secure the ball and claim Wymondams' third try of the half.

Wymondham did not have it all their own way and Norwich fought back strongly, applied some pressure late in the half.  They were rewarded with a well deserved try which, converted, left the half time score at 21-7 to Wymondham.

In the second half, Wymondham continued their dominance with an early try by James White, a superb individual effort, ably converted by Jack H.  Wymondham then lost concentration and let Norwich score straight from the kick off.  Norwich continued to apply pressure in some exiting passages of play from both sides.  The deadlock was broken by a fantastic individual effort from Toby Craven who ran a full 40m to score under the posts, again converted by Jack.

Wymondham applied more pressure in the latter stages and were able to score two more tries, one by Miles  and the last by Liam, all converted.

This rounded off a thoroughly good morning and the final score was 49-14 to Wymondham.

MVP this week went to a Norwich player- Oli Coleman(!) for his hard work in both the scrums and the loose.
