U10s win in the quarter finals of the
Prima Tiger Cup Bowl – 21 January 2012
Wymondham under 10s continue the run of Wymondham sides playing at Welford Road, Leicester. Having remained unbeaten at the qualifying stages, the squad was naturally disappointed not to be playing in the main draw. Nevertheless, the chance of playing at Welford Road, more than made up for this and the boys travelled the now familiar route to Leicester full of anticipation and excitement. Thanks to the hard work of their coaching team, led by Dave Clark, the boys knew they had every opportunity of winning their quarter final, giving them a chance of a return trip. |

Rugby Memories with Bob Sutton |
Bob Sutton first started playing rugby at the age of eleven when he attended Swaffham Grammar School. One of Bob’s school memories was of his train journeys to school from Dereham to Swaffham when the boys got in to all sorts of mischief; he and his friends would slide out of their carriage and shimmy along the running board, and into the next carriage. At this time, there were but five rugby clubs in the local area: Norwich; West Norfolk; Ipswich; Norwich Union; and Lowestoft and Yarmouth. Norwich ran a Thursday team, owing to the fact that the shops were closed on a Thursday |

Wymondham Wasps victorious! |
The Wasps have progressed very nicely through the first half of the season collecting six wins out of eight. The last game of 2011 saw the Wasps produce their first ever win against local rivals Fakenham. 2012 started in a similar vein with another win in the return leg against Fakenham and the 36 - 0 victory provided just the right start to the year! |

View from the Chair… |
Hello again! Well, Christmas is now just a distant memory and, despite the snow and ice, we are looking forward to Spring and the days growing longer. Pitches
Unfortunately, the weather has yet again taken its toll of fixtures across all sections of the Club and, with important League and Cup games stacking up, we will have to manage the use of our pitches very carefully to make sure key games can be played.
Shay Good and Andy Lyle have the unenviable job of deciding on the fitness of the pitches and pitch allocation. As with the referee for the recent cancelled France v Ireland game, I would ask you to support them in their task as, believe me, they want rugby to be played as much as you do. |

Support Your Club’s Premier Sponsors |
Businesses have many reasons for sponsoring a club such as ours. Sometimes it’s because they have a passion for the sport and often it’s because they want to put something back into the community. Wymondham RFC is a fantastic club to sponsor and our continuing growth and development means that we really appreciate every sponsor who helps us! In return, we owe it to our sponsors to work with them too. Please support your club’s sponsors! Our current premier sponsors are shown below and I’ve invited them to say a few words to you, our members, sponsors and friends. |

2012 – A bumper year for Wymondham RFC! |
Mike Catt OBE to visit Tuttles Lane Wednesday 18 April Our thanks go to Clydesdale Bank who bring Mike Catt OBE to the club on Wednesday 18 April 2012 to join in coaching sessions (4.30pm – 6.15pm) with two very lucky youth teams. One of these lucky teams will be the Under 15’s, as this arrangement was originally set up by our own Gordon Duffy, whose son plays in that team. Thank you Gordon! In the evening, Mike Catt will join us for a Questions & Answers session in the Clubhouse (7.30pm – 9.00pm), revealing, amongst other things, how the same motivational techniques used in high performance sport can be transferred to the business world. |
